Vegan desserts in Bangkok: cakes, ice cream & bakeries
Thailand has always been quietly great at plant-based sweets — coconut milk, sticky rice, mango and pandan do a lot of work. But the new wave of all-vegan bakeries and dessert cafés means you can now get proper birthday cake, soft-serve and brunch pancakes with zero dairy or eggs.

Kem-Kon Khaosan
The original Khaosan branch of Bangkok's beloved 100% vegan Thai street-food chain. Kem-Kon ('intense flavour' in Thai) takes every dish you'd find at a regular Thai stall — pad kra pao, pad Thai, khao man gai, som tam — and makes them entirely plant-based. Wallet-friendly, unpretentious and genuinely delicious.
Mango Vegetarian & Vegan
A cosy vegetarian and vegan restaurant doubling as an art gallery, a short walk from Khao San Road. Founded in 2014 by a family with organic farm connections, Mango serves a colour-coded menu of Thai and Western dishes — green curries, jackfruit massaman, pita falafel with hummus and fresh granola bowls — all made from ingredients sourced with care. Cats, art and community-minded values complete the picture.
Mercy Republic
A hip-hop-themed vegan bar and kitchen on Sukhumvit 23, where the menu doubles as a playlist. Mercy Republic serves creative Thai-fusion street food and vegan cocktails named after R&B and hip-hop classics — think 'Jay-Z-style' BBQ jackfruit ribs and a Kendrick Lamar-inspired cocktail. One of Bangkok's most fun places to eat plant-based.
DOSA KING, 100% Pure Vegetarian Indian Experience Since 2002
A Sukhumvit institution since 2002 — Bangkok's longest-running pure vegetarian Indian restaurant, serving Punjabi and South Indian cooking from a spot steps off BTS Nana. Dosa King's menu spans 20+ dosa varieties, fluffy puri, rich curries and Jain-friendly options, all prepared in a clean, well-run kitchen. Over two decades of feeding Bangkok's Indian community and curious diners alike.
Veganerie Nana
The Nana branch of Bangkok's beloved Veganerie group, leaning into Thai fusion, desserts and brunch in the heart of the backpacker and expat belt. Expect the same fully vegan credentials as the flagship Concept location — reliable plant-based Thai dishes, international comfort food and an excellent dessert selection — with the added convenience of the Nana BTS corridor.
May Veggie Home
A long-running 100% vegan restaurant in the Sukhumvit area, established in 2011 and still one of Bangkok's most complete plant-based kitchens. May Veggie Home spans Thai classics (tom yum, pad Thai, green curry, som tam), Japanese-inspired dishes and Western comfort food — vegan burgers, salads and a tempting cake and ice cream selection. No animal products — not even honey.
Veganerie Concept
Bangkok's first all-vegan restaurant group, with the Concept flagship sitting behind Benjasiri Park near BTS Phrom Phong. Veganerie Concept is the brand's largest location — a full dining restaurant and café rolling out cauliflower wings, teriyaki bowls, Japanese curry, vegan Dubai chocolate cake and freshly baked croissants. Set the standard for plant-based dining in Bangkok and still draws a devoted crowd.
Sutunthip Vegan
A 100% vegan kitchen across the river in Khlong San, with 100+ Thai and Chinese dishes (all pictured on the menu). Reviewers single out the just-ground green curry — called 'the freshest in Thailand' — plus crispy 'duck' laap and mushroom pad gra pao.
Broccoli Revolution
Bangkok's original modern vegan restaurant, credited with sparking the city's plant-based wave. Opened in 2015 on Sukhumvit 49, it's a bright, plant-filled space that still leads the way — from its famous banana-blossom 'fish' & chips to grain bowls, cold-pressed juices and jackfruit tacos. A benchmark for what Thai-international vegan cooking can be.
Kruaboon Thai
A fully vegan Thai kitchen near the gem-trading district in Mahesak-Silom, Kruaboon brings the full range of Thai home cooking to a plant-based table. The Kang Phed Tofu red curry and Yum Tofu Foo salad are house signatures, but the yakisoba and mango salad show a kitchen willing to roam beyond borders. Nearly 900 reviews at 4.8 stars for a small neighbourhood restaurant is a serious achievement.
Vegan Pranakhon- Khaosan Road วีแกนพระนคร- ถนนข้าวสาร
A fully vegan restaurant at the quiet end of Khaosan Road doing creative Thai-fusion cooking that bears no resemblance to the tourist-facing fare surrounding it. Massaman hummus, Panang curry ramen and mocktails that actually hold up make this one of the most interesting vegan spots in the old city — and one of the highest-rated at 5.0 stars.
Kem-Kon Vegan Phahurat
A fully vegan kitchen in Phahurat — Bangkok's Little India — that manages to feel like a brunch café and a serious Thai restaurant at the same time. Boat noodle soup, teriyaki tofu and fried oyster mushrooms share the menu amid an abundance of potted plants. Open 10am to 10pm, it's one of the few plant-based spots in the neighbourhood that keeps late hours.
